The ferrocement canopy of the SNFCC is 100mx100m in plan with 4,50m at midspan and 30cm at the edge. The canopy is suspended from 30 D40cm columns, via a spring damper system called the column head.

The structural system is a space frame with the internal bracing by steel tubo sections and the upper and lower flanges by ferrocement of 2,5cm to 5,5cm thickness. The total weight is 4500tns.

The canopy is designed to vibrate vertically under the design wind and earthquake through the passive control of the springs and the dampers.
