Takis Klaudakis – AI Structural Engineering Agent
Takis is not a person. He is the artificial-intelligence agent developed in-house by Penelis Consulting Engineers, for our own office, to work alongside our engineers. Built on Anthropic’s Claude models and developed and configured by our team, Takis carries the engineering approach of the Penelis school and the office’s working procedures, and supports the team in technical, documentation and communication tasks every day.
Takis assists – he does not replace engineering judgement. Every technical output he prepares is reviewed, approved and signed by the licensed engineers of the office, and correspondence leaves the office only after human review.
Engineering knowledge base
- Trained on the Penelis school of structural and earthquake engineering, distilled from the books, theses, lectures and papers of Prof. George G. Penelis and Dr. Gregory G. Penelis.
- Core principles: conceptual design first, capacity design and ductility, energy-based understanding of seismic response, and minimal, compatible and reversible interventions in monuments.
- Codes: Eurocodes 0–8 with the Greek National Annexes, KAN.EPE. and KADET for existing structures, and international codes such as ACI 318, ASCE 7/41, AISC and TBDY 2018.
What Takis does
- Design and specification reviews – clause-by-clause comparison of new or revised specifications against the contractual baseline, delivered as priority-rated (high / medium / low) review matrices.
- Design package reviews – completeness and sufficiency checks of submissions, identification of inconsistencies and clashes between disciplines.
- Technical correspondence – assessment of incoming project mail and drafting of replies in Greek or English, for review by the responsible engineer.
- Code look-ups and technical notes – verified clause references, with the Penelis position noted where the school’s view goes beyond the code.
- Documentation and communication – project articles, news and the maintenance of this website.
